Check out the debut of Chicago's new Sears Tower viewing "ledges."
On one visit as a teenager, I remember exiting the 103-floor express elevator and being amazed at the updraft blowing out between the floor and the elevator cab. It blew up skirts and shopping bags, and bounced baby carriages a couples inches off the ground.
This would be another good reason not to wear a skirt to the Sears Tower.
I'm so afraid of heights, I only barely kept my morning toast down looking at these images.

Yeah, I'll look from here thanks.
I had to crawl on the floor of my hotel room with my sister holding my legs to shut a window in an all glass wall on an upper floor.
Too clueless to call the front desk or too embarrassed one or the other.
Needless to say I won't be visiting this observation area.
No no no, that IS the reason to wear a skirt to the sears tower!
Loving the blog, loving you, loving everything. I've been keeping my eyes out for porch wine. :)

So when the wind blew your skirt up was it a cool wind or a hot wind? It makes a difference...
I'm with you. Enjoying a glass or three of something on a nice ground level patio with good friends is my idea of a thrill these days.
I'm a ham (Amateur Radio as well as commercial licensee) and we have no fear or high places. The higher you get an antenna (AHAT - Average Height Above Terrain) the better your signal will be heard.
I'd love to see this one though. It'd be so cool.
