During a recent home office purge, I rediscovered a treasure trove from my past.
In my younger years, I always wanted to grow up and be a cartoonist. My heroes were folks like Don Martin at MAD Magazine:
and my ultimate hero, George Booth from the New Yorker Magazine.
Obviously, I never reached the heights of success that these gentlemen did, but it was a great way for me to amuse my co-workers and friends - and to relieve the tension and anger that comes from working in the corporate world.
In the process of cleaning up the office, I found folders of my old work - most from more than 20 years ago.
At first, I recoiled at the unpolished nature of the drawings - and some that were SO specific to my workplace and colleagues at the time, that no one else would ever appreciate them.
However, I have decided to post a few of the more accessible ones - just to relive old times. I hope you'll enjoy them - but if not, don't tell me. Ha.
I may share more occasionally - just for the few old friends who come to this blog, as well as for any of my newer friends who might find them amusing.
And here we go: (click to enlarge)

Good stuff Dupree. When I was younger I used to dream of being a cartoonist too. I drew lots of frames, but they mostly related to sexual acts. Ok, not mostly. They were ALL sexual :-)
I love those!!! I especially love the nuts and fruitcakes...
Ah you should keep drawing. I laughed.
Nice! DuPree, you aren't dead yet. Don't give up on the dream. :)
