Well - it's official.We've officially dissolved our association with the flower shop. I won't go into the gory details but I will say this: when you are in any kind of prolonged abusive relationship, the only way out is to get completely out.
We're maintaining a civil attitude and a positive demeanor - no reason to be trash talking anyone.
Sadly, the parties that have brought this issue into being and the business down in flames are well known enough for their issues and their antics around town. No explanations are necessary on our part.
It's a pity, really - through February of last year, we had it sewn up. And then it all just began to blow apart, even as we redoubled our efforts to keep things going. Those closest to us know what happened and have been incredibly supportive.
It's actually good news, though, because Brian will finally be going out on his own as his own boss for the first time ever.
We've secured a space that he will share with a floral wholesaler in an upcoming part of town, directly across from the Performing Arts Center and near many flourishing businesses.
And on February 1, we'll be flinging the doors open on a new opportunity.
